ロック・グループの話ではなく、古いジャズソングである。
ニノ・テンポとエイプリル・スチーブンス兄妹のデユエットで歌われたヴァージョンが私は好きである。邦題では「夢のディープ・パープル」となっているようだが、これは「紫色の夢」と訳すべきだろう。原題はただ「Deep purple」である。
「through the mist of a memory you wander back to me」のフレーズが一番好きだ。「mist of a memory」が特にいい。
