今朝の起き抜けにトイレに行った時から、なぜか「想い出のサンフランシスコ」の唄が頭の中に流れていたので、それを漠然とした記憶で書いてみる。毎度言うが、私は英語が苦手であり、日本の唄でさえ歌詞を覚えている唄はほとんど無いほど記憶力も無い。下の英語の綴りは間違いだらけだろう。ただ、中学時代に覚えた英語歌詞をどの程度記憶しているかという実験である。まあ、古い名曲というものは歌詞と曲が見事に一体化しているので記憶に残りやすいとは言えるかと思う。
*fogを複数形でfogsにしたのなど、非常に怪しいが、なぜかそう覚えているのでそのまま書く。
＊「サンフランシスコ」の綴りも怪しい。おそらく「聖フランシスコ」という人名から来た都市名だと思うので「サン」は「saint」の短縮形ではないかという気もするが、そのままにする。
